This kid has impressed me. Before the season began I felt that he would've been better off honing his skills in Atlantics (and it would've been a great generation rivalry against Just Al and Graham Rahal too!) but his maturity after admitting he had a problem breaking halfshafts and his performance at Indy and Watkins Glen have been phenomenal, especially for a 19yr old with not that much experience with highpowered racecars.
He pulled off some good passes at the Glen, though he could use a tad more patience in certain situations. I don't care too much for his whiner dad though.

I agree, although a little optomistic at times, he shows he has the car control skills. I agree, cheever should be out of racing, the guy is a moron.. Indy winner or not..

Or his pain-in-the-*** mother. I thought we'd seen the last of her after she and Michael divorced. But while I was sitting happily & watching Indy, coffee in hand, her snotty image and stupid hat once again found the way into my living room. All the the forgotten horrors and disappointments of Michael's year in F1 came back in an instant.

Marco is fast and has some mad car control, but he also has that sickening Andretti "I'm never wrong" whine that he gets honest from Mario and especially from Michael. ...and Sandy Andretti? Thawley is dead on! She's the poster child for poor taste.
He has yet to admit that he absolutely threw away an Indy 500 win by blowing turn # 3. The replays have been shown over and over of Hornish's pass at the line, but the race was clearly won entering # 3 when Marco erased a 10 car length lead by entering # 3 too shallow and probably having to breathe the throttle. Sam turned in at the wall, matted the throttle and exited # 3 right on Marco's ***. The rest has been replayed a zillion times.
I despise Cheever; he also never accepts responsibility for his numerous screw ups. As for the Glen; he clearly punted Danica and didn't own up to it. I call his crash with Marco a 50/50. Cheever should have seen Marco coming and given him room. Marco was so much faster than Cheever that he could have passed him cleanly almost anywhere. He should have set that pass up to Cheever's left, which would have put him to the inside of Cheever for the next corner.

Marco is pretty impressive. Did you guys see that save he had at Indy around the mid-point of the race? That was rediculous. He clearly lost the race on a mistake in turn 3 like track rat said though. His last lap was only 214 mph whereas Hornish did almost 220 I think.
I didn't watch the IRL race, but are you guys talking about Eddie Cheever? Is this the same guy who drives the Crown Royal DP car in Grand-Am? That guy is ******* terrible. It pisses me off to no end that he constantly divebombs people and causes wrecks in Grand-Am, then the announcers always say "poor Eddie Cheever, always getting turned down on." You'd think after 5 or more of those incidents, they might start wondering why everyone keeps turning down on him. I'm guessing that they just can't talk trash about him because Crown Royal is a major sponsor or something. Drives me nuts though.

Yes, that was a pretty impressive save. Chalk up his last turn 3 as a rookie mistake and even though he has a lot of potential "family" experience to advise him on Indy, I doubt there was very much discussion on the topic at the dinner table given the track record of his pop at this place.

I remember working a corner at Barber during the "Skippy" arrive and drive race series in 2003. Marco was very green. He ignored the black flag about five times and they just pulled him off the track for a "time out".
