if you have proper reinforcement its just fine. the bar is a 22mm, equivalent to the ITR bar wihch many people run.
since your car is between 96-00, you get the cheapass subframe that tears when a big sway bar so much as looks at it funny. for a 22mm, get an asr or comptech. there are a few DIY threads for such products if you dont want to shell out the cash for one of the finished pieces.
for a tested method though, i would go asr. im very happy with mine

So a 22mm swaybar would tear out my subframe? Whats the biggest size sway bar you can put on a 96-00 without the risk of tearimg out the subframe? What size is an Si rear swaybar?

The 99-00 SI ran a 13mm Spring. You can get all-new OEM Spring & Hardware for around $170-185. This will include the Endlinks, Brackets, Bolts, & Nuts... Based on the fact that this came standard, I would imagine you won't need anything special to run with it. I'm not sure of any other sizes available that will work without the reinforcement, but...

KingMotorsports has a 22mm kit with ASR Subrame Brace for around $340...

yummy...

-- oooh.. Make sure your Rear LCAs have the connection holes for your endlinks...
EDIT: Online OEM Honda retailers show the Rear Spring as 13mm...

I wish I could say... I don't have ANY Spring in the back yet...

Maybe others can chime in here as to the effect on your car's behavior, and/or check the Suspension Forum. I'm not sure how much oversteer would be felt.. we're still driving FWD cars...

Again... whaddo I know?

The good thing is that the 13mm OEM EM1 Rear Spring is less than $60. OEM Bushings and Bushing Brackets are about $15 for the 13mm Spring. I don't know if you'll need the OEM Brackets if you get the KMS kit. Maybe you can be our Guinnea Pig!! If you call King, they'll probably be able to tell you if the Endlinks are the same for the 22mm and 13mm Spring, and whether you can use the 13mm Spring with their ASR kit (the $340 one).

But I can't really contribute further than that... Let us know and GL!!

i have a 22f/21r bar combo and it is neutral/understeer, unless i lift and do some pretty harsh steering inputs. smooth like buttah everything is fine.

with the 22 rear i wouldnt expect you to have much if any oversteer.
AFAIK the endlinks are the same, the ASR kit with the 22mm itr bar actually comes with SI endlinks.
while i wouldnt suggest using an ASR with a 13mm bar because the frame is completely capable of handling that without issue, i dont know that the oem D-brackets have the same bolt spacing, if i recall they are too closely spaced. oem integra brackets for a 13mm didnt fit my asr when i was waiting for my blox bar to arrive. if you search Summit or someplace similar they may have a bracket set for a 13mm bar with the proper bolt spacing for the asr plate. it would still be unneccessary though.

i suspect you would be very happy with asr/ctr though. good luck whatever route you choose

But if you consider the cost of having to weld the Subframe back together, as well as the effects of having a Suspension component fail on you WHILE DRIVING, it's not that bad... So, considering that the ASR Brace is $180, it's like getting a 22mm Spring AND *ALL* required Hardware for $160... Not bad at all.

I have to tell myself all the time to slow down (spending). If we wanna a run BigBoy SwayBar, we gotta pay up a little more to "Do It Right".

Check this out...

Doesn't come with ALL the hardware, but it says it comes with the Bushings... Maybe call the dood up to see what else is needed to run with it (Endlinks, Brackets, Bushing Brackets, etc., and assuming you have the Subframe Brace)... I'm not sure if this would save you any $$$, but it might be an option (if it's even available...).

GL!!!

thats wat i aws thinkin ghost, i would be easier and cheaper to get an si swaybar, but might as well do it right the first time and get an asr brace and bigger swaybar, since the si swaybar will probably not be enough after a while.
