Default Engine Died

I was driving about 10mph down my steet today and I heard a poof and the engine died. I pulled the valve cover to make sure the belt didn't break and it was fine. I also pulled the distributer cap and everthing seemed fine. I now try to start it and it cranks, but nothing. Any ideas on what could just make it die all of a sudden? Thanks

turn the motor by hand and fell the belt to be sure it stays tight. If it doesn't, then your tenisoner may be out. That's if you have an auto tenisioner....

I just checked the cel and I am getting 9 flashes ,which is the crank angle sensor correct? Is this ussually going off because the sensor is bad or ussually a differnent issue? Could the belt jump some teeth and do it?
