Please help! Alternator not charging battery!
So I recently finished my h22 swap into my teg, and ever since, the alternator hasn't been charging the battery. I went and got it tested and the alternator was working fine, so I tested the connectivity of the 4 wires in the connector and their good, the battery should be fine, it was sitting for about 5 months, but it still holds a good charge and it tests fine. I'm lost here. Any help would be great!
If you have actually had the battery tested using a midtronics unit or load tested it... then i would say that your connections may be wrong from the alternator to the battery or the voltage regulator may be bad (not sending voltage to the battery).
Where exactly is the voltage regulator? And what goes from the alternator to the battery? The only cables going to the battery is the ABS, the starter, and the fuse box. Am I suppose to have a cable going to the battery from the starter? Thanks for the help so far and anymore help is appreciated.
Where did you get it tested and at what time during the day. I have seen some of my co-workers tell people their parts are good just because we are about to close and they dont want to deal with their problems.
I got it tested at Schucks auto supply, a pretty good chain store, I'm not sure if it's only in Washington though. But the guy was nice, he had a prelude and we talked, and he let me watch him do the test, and it flashed "Past" and said it was charging the battery to 14.5 volts and it all looked good. I was wondering though, is there a cable that's suppose to go to the battery from the alternator, cause I just got 1 cable going from the positive to the ABS motor relay, Fuse box, and the starter, am I suppose to have a cable that goes to the alternator to the battery too? thanks for all the help so far.
Schucks is part of the CSK auto group (Checker Shucks Kragen, the K is where I work) Did he put it on the machine and let it charge or did he use the miniature testing unit? When you put it on the machine, it will charge the battery (only if it is capable of holding a charge) until it finds a bad cell (it will usually say 60 minutes to charge)
I'm not sure what he put it on, he put it on something, then plugged the right connector into it, and then it said testing for about 30 seconds, then it said passed, and said it was at 14.5 volts. Also, I forgot to mention theres this weird white paste in my connector and on the actual wire connectors on the alternator? Is it some kind of paste that's suppose to prevent degrading, or is it something that's not suppose to be there and prehaps blocking the signals. Maybe I'll post a picture l8r, it's just this white paste inside the green alternator connector. Thanks for all the help!

No the battery cables are suppose to run into your fuse block... but the paste if applied wrong is an insulator and actually doesnt allow current to flow through it. I would clean all that crap off and go from there.
Next i would do a voltage drop test starting from the alternator to see where your not getting your charge.
