Default rpm gauge problems.... 94 del sol

ok sometimes like it will stay in 0 and not move... then when i like bang on the top of th edash it starts workin... also when it gets to high in the rpm... it like starts dancing.... sometime like ill be aroun 5-6k and it like jumping to like 9k+ and back n stuff.... anyone know what could be wrong?

check your grounds. Mine was sticking, but it was only my battery over charging because of bad grounds.

the battery is like.... not even 2 months old. And by grounds do you mean the cables connecting ot the battery or the one coming off the valve cover or what?

You should check all the grounds on the battery, valve cover, there should be one from the frame to the trans on the right hand side of the car. You might not be able to see it if you have a stock air box. with the age of the car I would just make new ground wires out of 8 gauge wire. Check you local stereo shops for left over power/ground wire. that is to short for them to use.

its the grounds or you have a lose connection somewhere behind you gauge cluster. doubt its a bad tach.
