Default Cams for B16a

I found a good deal on a '00 ITR intake cam and the guy can also hook me up with a '98 JDM GSR cam. I was wondering if that would be a good combo for a realtively mild b16(stock block, no head work....for now ) . I've read many conflicting things about the gsr cams, such as they are nearly the same to a b16 or that they are close to an ITR exhaust cam. I know I could get better gains from afermarket cams (such as the buddy club spec 3 +) but I can get an excellent deal on these cams so I thought I should ask about this combo.

If it helps here's the mods to the motor(so far)
Injen CAI(3")
AEBS 70->68mm TB
AEBS ported IM
Magnacore wires and denso plugs
all stock internals
DC JDM style 4-1 header
custom 2.5" mandrel exhaust
Exedy clutch and flywheel

b16a and gsr exhaust cams are allmost the same the gsr intake cam is a lil more agressive than a b16a intake cam ,i think that if your getting a good deal youll be happy but i would rather have both itr cams

But the with the ITR cam on the intake side and GSR on the exhaust side would it be a good match?

yes it will work fine ,it would just be better with the higher lift longer duration itr cam
my b16 has never been dynoed but it runs fine all the way up till the rev limmiter stops the fun at 8200rpm and it stills feels as though theres more there ,im running a gsr intake and a b16 exhaust

You wouldn't happen to have a dyno sheet of your motor, would you?

I'm not a fan of CTRs really. Maybe because my butt dyno is really pessimistic .

How much are you getting them for exactly?

IF I get them it would be 200 (150 for the ITR intake & 50 for the gsr exhaust)

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by PrOjEcT Ej2 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i can sell u my CTR cams for 275 for that setup</TD></TR></TABLE>

I was told ITRs make more power over the CTRs, but that's a good price if it's both cams....I'll think about it if this guy doesn't come through.

OT but

Pretty sure if anything you'd be better off with CTRs, because CTRs and 00-01 ITRs are the same lift/duration/specs, but if you get a 97-99 ITR cam its not as aggressive as the CTR/00-01 ITR.

theres only a 3degree more duration on the itr/ctr cams not a huge differance from the 97-99 itr cams but i do hear that they make more power

2000+itr is the same as ctr thats why they call them itr/ctr cams, 97-99 itr cams have a lil less duration than the 2000+ cams
