I used A H22A1 head on an H22A4 block and used the H22A4 head gasket.

Why would they be any different? Oil passages or something of that sort?

All I know is I bent 8 valves in my A4 head and I had a spare A1 head so I slapped it on. I reused my A4 head gasket and its been fine for the last 6 months...(My A4 is a '2000 and the A1 is a '94)
