Default 96 Accord EX sedan V.S. STOCK 2004 CIVIC LX sedan

OK. Here's the deal. Me and a friend have been arguing who's car would win if we both race. I have a 96 ACCORD EX sedan w/ a auto tranny. Iam sporting a new F22B1 engine (35K), AEM/INJEN SRI, and OBX sport exhaust system. My opponent ? A BRAND new, stock CIVIC LX sedan. It is also a automatic. I admitted that he had me in gas mileage but he claimed that his CIVIC could take me in the street and highway. His reason for saying he could take me is because my car is "old", I have HUGE 18in wheels, and that CIVICS are lighter than ACCORDS. My reasons that I could take him is are that I have a BIGGER engine and VTEC LOLZ. He dosen't know that I swapped motors so he thinks its still the old 135000 motor in it. We're gonna run in a couple days, street and highway. Iam kinda worried that he might take me. Who do you guys think have the advantage here ? Thanks guys

the civic would win. 145HP for 3086lbs (not counting 18" rims) versus an 06 civic with a 140hp engine and only 2751 lbs.... even with your bolt ons you might have 15HP added for a total of 160hp.

YOu loose no doubt about it your car is at least 335lbs heavier most likely closer to 450lbs heavier due to those heavy *** rims. 20HP is not going to overcome that weight disadvantage......

Wouldn't a 2004 Civic have a VTEC too?

I actually did my research on the 04 CIVIC LX sedan and its not as strong as I thought it would be. The Civic LX is sporting a 1.7 liter engine NON-VTEC with 115 HP & 110 TQ. 0-60 takes it a amazing 12 sec to get to and it'll run 18s on the 1/4. I always imagine it coming with 130 HP and VTEC, but it was the EX model I mistaken it for. I can't wait to run and watch this guys face drop when my "OLD" car leaves his spanking new 04 CIVIC LOLZ.

And the question everyone is asking:

Does it matter and who cares?
