Default d16y7 to b18b1 swap- NEED MUCH help!!! I hydrolocked my d16

I am torn between a d16y8 and b18b1 swap for my 96 civic dx. I have a VERY limited budget ($2000 for everything I need PLUS installation). I have read and read that both are very straight foreward. I would just love to hear from people who have done this and what they went through and what they neededand what they didn't expect or didn't have. I greatly appreciate your time. Thank you.

Ok lets see... What you need to do is this...

Get yourself a d16y8 head, get some new valves, valve springs, a cam and cam gear. Some Port and Polish love from a good source. and do a freaking mini me setup...

All you need is this:

Complete d16y8 head
96+ Civic engine baby wireharness
96+ Civic ECU p28

and some diff odd and ends and you should be set... but those are the main things.. i mean its easy and plus with some bolt ons and a few internals you can hit 180 hp easy

First off thank you for your service and just to let you know I was in Iraq and went throught 3 roadside bombs and the last one killed my best friend in the deuce and a half. I would give my pruple heart back in a secone to have more days with Eric, but I can't.

Thank you for your advice for a motor. Like I said I am very torn. I don't know what to do. Your advice seems very reasonable and not very expensive. There is a junkyard near where I live that would charge for the ECU, trans, motor I think $1450. Doea that sound really high or about right? Thank you for your time.

Sorry for not posting in awhile, but you should be able to find a d16y8 head from someone on here... its not very hard to do. It only took me 3 hours to do... If you look around you can do it for less then 1000 bucks...
