Default windshield wipers dying

I took off my windshield wipers to paint them, and i put them on, and i started to notice that they seem like they are really having a hard time going, and on the fastest speed they aren't that fast anymore. They almost seem like they are dragging against the windshield. The blades are brand new, so it isn't that, but is it possible the motors are dying or maybe i tightened them down too much?

They also get stuck on the intermedate sometimes too, until i turn them on the slow speed or turn them off and on again.

Loosen them up and see if they work any better.
