Default jdm type r cluster..

would a cluster from a 2000 jdm type r work with my 98 gsr? i tried searching but i guess i didn't use the correct terms to look for it. help me out guys i'm about to buy 1 in 2 hours.

i saw a pretty sweet cluster myself. the thing is im kinda new to this stuff but a type r cluster goes up to 160 when a ls gs gsr go up to 150 mph. i dont know if the electronics are in the cluster or what. but if you find out dude message me or something coz type r cluster is sexy

It should work fine.

Doesn't 2000 have the immobilizer though? I don't know if that plays a role in cluster swap.

There is no immobilizer light. The immobilizer is something that prohibits the car from being started without the proper key. It has nothing to do with the cluster.

Yes, the cluster will work just fine in your GSR.

it will work fine just take your printed circuit off your cluster an dput it on to the type r cluster, (after reomoving its printed circuit) and hook it all up, any problems just ask.

its plug and play but!!!.. the tach won't be the same... the type R redlines at roughly around 8500 rpm and the gsr redlines at 8000rpm and the ls/rs redlines at 7300-7500 rpm
