Default Help me figure something out please

How fast is a stock Intregra Type R?

Are they considered "race cars" from the factory?

How fast is a type-r with a thinner head gasket, titanium valves, cai, and stock exhaust?

The reason why I ask is I think I am getting bs'd around by a guy (who might be on this site) about these cars. I have two friends who have gsr's with 60trim T-3 (I believe) and they told me he was full of crap. Please help me out. and any info you can add on top of this would be much help! Thanks

Buford

Most USDM DC2 ITR will redline in fifth gear if given enough room on the track to achieve this. Many, many people have done this.

The DC2 Integra Type R is a homologation special put together to specifically address issues that the Integra was having or was being projected to have when raced in the N Series endurance championship. The cars were sold in the USDM in order to allow for their FIA homologation into the World Challenge and some other series in which they were projected to be competitive.

They are not factory race cars; however, they were homologated in extremely limited production numbers (see the sticky thread above) in order to make sure Acura in the USDM and Honda in the JDM could legally campaign them in many series.

Not much faster than stock. It probably means an extra three to five HP if no other changes were made to the car. It is an unusual combination of features, and I am not sure why these specific changes would have been made unless the head needed repair.

Quarter mile? How fast?

Those acronyms and the word homologated just confused the hell out of me lol. So, they are not factory race cars and there is no reason insurance should be super high on them for the average person to buy it?

By putting a thinner head gasket on would help raise the compression on the car which might net some horsepower, but I think he was bs'ing me because there are 100 other mods I would do before I did that.
