Default coilovers? springs?

Im thinking about lowering my car for mainly appaerance purposes (for the moment) and different people have suggested different things. Should i go for new coilovers or springs and if i go one or the other, would the shocks need to be changed? and whats cheaper? im on a tite budget, tryna get more outta every penny

you can do a good budget setup with a shock/spring combo, and have the benefit of a lowered look with a smooth ride... just get tokico HP shocks (blues) for about 250 off ebay... and combine them with a spring of your choice, like Tein S.tech for about 150 on ebay. there you go.

thats what ive got, i can fit 4 people in my car and a heavy floor jack in my trunk, without scraping. On 15 inch rims. my ride is as smooth as stock. feels nothing like my friends dropped cars.

it depends on your budget
there are a lot of good spring sets out, used a H&R spring set for the longest with agx's and loved it, they are very nice
however a cheap coilover set isnt worth it, and good coilovers are expensive, for just looks go with a decent coil, if im not mistaken i thin tein has a spring for looks and a comfrotable or near stock ride

cons of coilovers? well expensive, you do have adjust some coilovers which can be a huge pain, I.E putting the car on a lift...
but good coilover set only dents your wallet

if its not for performance, buy some cheap coil overs off ebay and some tokico blues. decent hadnling and up to a 2 inch or so drop for under $400.

AKA "grown man's drop" lol If you are going to spend $400, time and a headache to lower your car 1.5", please, keep it stock and enjoy the comfort of a nice smooth ride untill you decide to spend some money in your car

Or since you are in a tight budget, get off the shelf Ground control coilovers and put those on your stock shocks, but don't lower it more than 2.5" and be really careful not to bottom out. Basically have at least one component of good quality. Coilovers, or shocks. If you go with jadugatrir's suggestion, you will be barely dropped and if you decide to go lower, you will blow the $250 shocks you just bought in no time, and the springs are too soft to cut them, you will have mad travel and you will bottom out a lot, and you will have to get another set of springs/coilovers, etc etc et...

Go one step at a time. Slowly but surely.

Do not get the the Skunk 2's, they are stiff as hell. Search to find only more people to tell you this. Ground control is perfect for daily/sporty ride even on stock shocks as long as you don't slam it.
