h22 cb7 troubles
i put in a jdm h22a motor in my accord about a month ago and in that time i have had alot of transmission troubles. i put the stock accord f22a transmission in because i wanted good gas milage and it only had 120,000 km on it (about 60-70,000 miles).
well about a week later the trans blew up on the highway. i think the pin in the diff let go.
not a big deal i thought, the trans must have been weak or bad.
so i put in another f22 trans that was in good shape.
just this morning i notice a clunk whenever i make a right turn. i thought it ight be an axle. so i drive a bit more and it binds up sometimes. so i took it to my mechanic. he said after driving it that it is the diff.
the car runs awsome still in the straight line. no slipping or grinding, but whenever you turn it vibrates and binds up.
my question is..... if the diff was bad or the spider gears were bad, wouldnt the car not move foward at all. wouldnt it be stripped. because no matter how hard i stomp on it on the straight line it doesnt skip or slip.
im at the point now where im looking into a jdm h22a tranny. im just really hard up on cash after the whole swap.
thanks
