Default Oil leak on B16A, not the spool valve gasket!?

My friend has a 94' civic hatchback with a jdm swapped B16A and its been leaking around the vtec solinoid and we replaced the "spool filter gasket" and that apparently didn't do a damn thing since its still leaking. The oil kinda pools up on top of the tranny and its hard to find where its leaking from but we've narrowed it down to somewhere around the vtec solinoid. I'm more familiar with h-series motors (non-vtec) any suggestions?

Maybe #25 or 14??

well ****............
wtf is the "spool valve gasket"?
it could be the valve cover gasket tho...try a new one and make sure you torque it down properly

its #12 in the picture, its just a big gasket that goes between the head and the vtec solinoid. The valve cover gasket isn't it either, thats new too.

i had same problem, oil building up on tranny, so i thought my headgasket wasnt put in right, turns out it was just my distributor o-ring gasket ($2 from honda) and my valve cover gasket, both were leaking. replaced them and its been all good ever since. basically almost anywhere you leak oil up top is going to drain and accumulate there, due to the tilt of the motor and the way it sits.
