Hey guys i need some help/advice. Well i was driving today and my car just stopped cause the tranny siezed solid. Well I threw in the clutch and coasted to my house. Now I have a hole about 8" tall by about 6" wide in the tranny case exposing the gears inside. You guys gotta see the pics when I get it out..


So now I need a new engine(cause mine was burning oil) and obviously a new tranny. What swaps are cheap to do I mean CHEAP cause I need the car back on the road.


It is a 89 CRX DX with a d16b2 and I was thinking of doing a b16 but they are way out of my price range.


What would you guys recommend on cheap engine swap with full upgradability.

WHERE CAN YOU GET SUCH ENGINES CHEAP ????

I live in BC Canada so I dont want to pay 500 bucks shipping from florida and take 3 months then get held up at customs for a month charging me 300 bucks... you get the picture...


So where can I get this stuff?????

 

single cam vtec motor out of 92-95 civic, convert it to obd1 and use a p28

 

Here is what we found when we went back to my house.

I guess the tranny fluid drain bolt got ripped off over one of the bumps. Cause here is where the pudlle starts at my house.

I've got the d16a6 and tranny out of my SI. Kinda high miles but the head was redone and no smoke or oil burning. Just a thought.

Well if you look under his name it says where he is located. If you look in his sig it says hes doing a hbrid swap so hes not going to need si engine etc......

I hope your not trying to get ritch off the d16a6 cause there not worth much eh. Ill give you a price tommorow I pay shipping.

Is it MPFI??? and how many KM's or io guess it would be MILES???

right on for the reasons 180k miles new clutch,pressure plate,bearing approx. 600 miles, new timing belt approx 500 miles along with water pump@ the same time. Head was change approx 45,000 miles ago, The motor is still in the car and If it will set your mind at ease I'll send a vhs tape with start up,running and even a burnout (if desired) to interested parties. It runs great. It's my daily driver but I can have the car down for a few weeks (spring time camaro fun!!!) while I get the rest of the parts for my swap. I'm not trying to get rich but I don't want to give it away. I don't know what the combo sells for maybe a third party can give a good price for the both of us. I'll post pic's tomorrow if you want to see them?
