Default buffing carbon fiber?

i have a very dull carbon fiber hood that looks like maybe its been just sitting in the sun too much. i was told it could be buffed out but was told it might need to use something other than regular wax. is there something special i should use for carbon fiber?

it will last for three months and dull back to the oxidized state , you need to re-clear coat the hood again or buy a new one.

if you want you can wetsand it with some fine grit as a last resort to a respray but reclearing will have nicer results

I had a hood that was doing the same thing....and I wet sanded it with 800 then 1000 then 1500 then 2000 really good and buffed it real good with n electric buffer and it came out magnificant! and been good as new since (8 months ago). Just make sure you sand with the 2000 really good or you'll see little scratches when your done. I dont kno the exact condition of your hood, but I would definately try buffing before you spend all that money on gettin it re-cleared. total cost for me was about $31. not counting the cost of buffer.
