Ignition tune up? which ngk plugs , searched
Alright i wanna do a lil ignition tune up on my h22 lude and i've got a couple of questions. First things first, i pulled the plugs and they wre black as hell on the bottom and had oil on the threads ( i think that cuz i had bad vc gasket). When i pulled the plugs they were Bosch and i read somewhere that you are not suppose to use Bosch on h22s and go NGK since that's wat it says on the bottom of the hood. Ok, now, my real question is which ngks to go with platinum, irridium, copper or laser irridium? and which wires to go with, i was gonna order some blue NGK wires off a thread i saw here on ht or could i just use some auto parts crap? I'm also gettin dizzy cap and rotor next week. help me out, i've searched but only found which plugs to go with for turboed h22s. help a brotha out
thanks in advance
thanks in advance
Go with platinum or iridium (they claim longer life) and if you have a stock coil go with NGK wires.
Don't even think about Bosch or Accel. Looks like your car runs too rich from the black spark plugs.

it does run a lil rich, i dunno why, now i was gonna go with irridium simply cuz they're cheaper, also somebody told me not to touch the irridium when i gap them is that true? as far as coil i think it's stock , so i'm just gonna get the ngk wires, i found some on here for sale for 49 bucks, gotta pm the dude
by the anybody gotta part # for NGK irridiums and NGK wires for a 93 prelude VTEC, also does it matter if i get irridiums since ngk platinums are OEM for it?

Preludes tend to run a lil rich from factory, that's normal. You're not supposed to gap the iridiums because they should come pregapped, and the tip is pretty fragile.
here's the link dirtysouth was talking about... http://www.preludepower.com/fo...28060

thanks khalal538, i did the tune up yesterday, got me some laser platinums (oem) from nappa along with ngk blue wires, advance auto parts cap (brown lol) and button, car still bogs a little , but maybe the parts have to be broken in, i dunno, if it continues i'm gonna go after fuel or something , thanks guys
edit: i gapped them to 1.1 mm like it says on the hood

I just recently changed my plugs (sunday) and before that, everytime I'd hit vtec, the CEL for System running too rich/lean would come up. Ever since changing them to NGK Iridiums, the code hasn't come up yet. I used to have a hesitation problem at 1k too but IDK if changing the plugs helped because i haven't driven it much.

fuel filter is a bitch in the H22...Goodluck with that...
If i remember correctly, i think the spark plug should be gapped at .044"
1.1mm is only .043" (not sure if that has an effect for your bogging).

it said 1.1 mm on the hood, i'm somewhere in there wasn't exactly 1.1 maybe a lil more i kinda tried to get it close to inches and milimeters, cuz at advance they told me the gap was .44"
