Keep getting Zapped.
Anyone have input on how I can make my civic quit zapping me EVERY time I hit the power-door lock button? It like static electricity or something. It doesnt hurt, but its annoying as hell, and my boss says its even a danger if youre at a gas pump and there is fumes it could ignite the fuel and BOOM!

Your boss is right. But just make sure you touch your car before you acutally pump the gas and DO NOT get back in the car while the gas is pumping.
As far as stopping it, you can't really just FIX it like an oil leak. Do a search and you 'll find the answers you need. I forget what you can do to help prevent it, but this has been covered eleventybillion times.

NYLON? come on man, wtf is that? LOL.
I figured the chances of the pump blowing up is 0 - none, but there is a chance. Its just plain annoying, thats why I want to fix it.

Is that a serious answer? Is that really the fix? LOL -kinda stupid but I guess it could work. Didnt think of it. I was more thinking of a ground problem, its a pretty hard zap, you can even hear it sometimes.

I think he was reffering to gas vapors igniting from the spark off of you not a gas pump. so what did that have to do with it being grounded lol.

if it zaps you when you use the power door locks. you might have an arc on the connector. if it zaps you every time you get out and close the door(which im sure most people can relate to) try adding more ground straps

I know there's a product you can buy that you stick on your car (it's a magnet of some sort) and it absorbs a lot of this 'extra' electricity. I think this will help your problem.

I don't see it. Which bumper? I used to work with this guy. If you're referring to the rear bumper, and the thing you can barely see at the end of it; that's the rear fog light, not a grounding strip.

Didn't notice that. And no, that's not what I was talking about. What I've seen (can't remember where) is a MAGNET that physically sticks onto the car and touches nothing except the metal chassi of the car.
