Default Good tranny? 1993 YS1 GSR cable tranny with Quaife LSD

I bought it yesterday for $885.00. Its going on a built B18B Turbo shooting for 400 at the wheels.

Kind of an impulse buy I hope it is good for my set-up.

Good luck getting traction. Gears are the shortest of any honda tranny.

if thats true then honda should put that in the type r instead, or the b16.

haha didnt mean it to be negative. I would also reccomend a full-race traction bar if you havent invested in one already.

definetly not what you want for a turbo setup. Awesome tranny, but more for and all motor setup. For boost you want a little longer gears to stay in boost longer and not shift so much. Look for a GSR or LS tranny awesome for turbo setups.

ya.. i agree with everyone else. bad choice for a turbo set up.

and it is the shortest geared tranny. I have one in my 92 gsr. it sucks. at 80mph, im at 4500 RPM's.

Its all good this isnt much of a street car. I looked up a Honda tranny chart and with a 4.40 final drive it isnt that bad.

Gears seem alot longer with traction.

I am having a hard time figuring out how running low 12's - high 11's is gonna suck.

Cruising rpm's mean nothing to me.

Yea, you negative nellies. That is a badass tranny, and it has aftermarket LSD. Traction is relative, if he can't get it on 22' slicks, he can get it on 24' slicks. Traction bars and a clutch slipping launch, and probably a slipping into 2nd, and possibly 3rd. Sounds like a fun car to drive, tire destruction. lol.
