Go to the kills thread and look at the guy who spanked a c5 corvette with a b16 turbo EG. hes making around 377 whp and lots of torque. So clearly, it can't be a waste of money. With a b16 without boost you get loss torque than a 1.8 b series motor but you should be able to get better Fuel Economy depending on the transmission you use.
An H22 into an EG will give you 1/4 times of high to mid 12s. A B16 stock into an EG should give you low 15's or maybe even 15 flat 1/4 times.
Boost the H22 in the EG and you can see yourself eating ferraris for breakfast, but its gonna take lots of building and work so don't exactly get happy with yourself.

that turbo was probably b16a, the b16b is say 3-4 thousand more dollars.
i think b16b is a waste of money, people buy it for the stamp. just get a b18c if you fell like spending alot of money
to answer your question though, the h22 is a nice motor, the tranny lacks, unless you go H2B, check out the hybrid forum, lots of experienced h22ers there
good luck

i myself will be pursuing an H22 with H2b (ls/gs/rs tranny) after i do a lot more cosmetics and suspension etc.
i say do the H22 with the H2b so i know all the 1 million things not to expletive up once your swap thread is 100 pages long

For the price of a b16b, you could get an H22a, B18c1; as you can see a faster motor and more than likely still have money left over. Don't get me wrong, the b16b is a good motor, but it's not cost effective for the other options that we have.
