Default a few 0-60 runs

was bored so did a few gtech 0-60 runs. too hard to do 1320 in my neighborhood, esp with my point ridden license.

nyc
9:30pm
58F
87% humidity
minimal wind

car is completely stock, including hockey puck tires which i was doing donuts on about 10 minutes before so they were nice and hot (bad thing for these crap tires)

run 1: 7.19secs
run 2: 6.91secs
run 3: 7.09secs

first run was launched at around 3k, lotta clutch feathering, no spin no hop, but slow off the line.
2nd and 3rd runs were launched at around 4k, less feathering, but with bad wheel hop, so no traction until around 20mph.

car hit 60mph at the end of 2nd.

my impression - can do better, need tires, a clutch would help, but decent power is there in stock form. i think car and driver times (6.1secs?) are achievable in ideal conditions, not while looking over your shoulder for cars, ppl, etc.

flame away folks.

Yeah, car and driver has the WRX at 5.4. That's faster than the porche 911 Carrera! You know what I watched the other day, a nissan Altima 3.5SE stoplight race a RSX-S. Any guesses as to which one won guys????

Look who's getting ansy..... Ready to start modding already? It usually starts with the tires, then a CAI, some camgears....... next thing you know your trying to figure how the new NSX engine will fit in your engine bay.

Come on Leo leave the fast driving to us guys with the fast cars

That should have been THOSE guys not US guys. Because even if your car is fast now, it sure as hell didn't start out that way...

sup old man

who said mods? all i said was crappy tires..

told ya, ill race ya anytime, just not in a stright line! come to the poconos on the 11th.. lets have some fun.

when im a rich old man with money to burn like you, ill be modding as well, dont worry! i got priorities now my man, a house, bills, all that good stuff.

besides, i had enuff speed. the teggy was taking 750cc bikes all the time, kept me happy, just unreliable. lesson learned, leave the fast driving for those who like to spend mucho money replacing motors.

Im refering to the elitist attitude that you seem to have in your post. You told him to leave the driving to those of US with fast cars. That's as if to say you're driving a Ferrari or something. I thought my point on this was pretty clear. Speaking of Einsteins... In any event, perhaps I was looking for an argument that you weren't actually trying to start (so I guess I am an Einstein after all). Unfortunately some postings in here have me a bit edgy, for that I apologize.

No problem, I was just ribbing my buddy Leo....... He's a little jealous that I have a insanely built engine and I am equally envious he has a trouble free new car w/ a manufacturer's warranty. So its all good

That's cool. I'd be curious to know what you've done to it, and what kind of power output your getting.

Oh and by the way Leo, not bad runs for your first time. I'm sure they'll improve with practice (thought I'd make at least a slightly on topic reply ).

I personally haven't used gtech yet, but a friend of mine got 6.5 with his RSX-S with no truly special effort. But then, I'm note sure how accurate gtech really is. I've heard that its usually a bit generous.
