Eibach Camber Kit problems: Car pulling in a single direction, need advice/help.
Just installed my Eibach Camber kit for my EF CRX 90 chassis and the install went well....just removing the ball joint was a lil pain..but regardless i threw this camber kit on...made sure it was even on both sides...and took it out for a test drive...and my car started pulling to the right pretty bad, no idea why..but the car was pulling to the right more and more at lower speeds then at higher speeds, and not as much when i was in gear and accelarating..only when i started braking it starts pulling to the right pretty bad..pretty violenty...so this is what was happening ..cuz i hate to make this into an awfully long run-on
installation
-installed camber kit properly
-adjusted the camber and made sure it was even/exact on both sides
AFTER installation..took it out for a test drive:
-car starts to pulls to the RIGHT pretty bad
-car pulls to the RIGHT....MORE at lower speeds and/or while braking
-car doesn't pull to either side as much when in gear...when accelerating
Took it back in the garage to make a few changes:
-made sure tires had good pressure...they were well inflated
-changed the camber on the left side..made it all negative to see if that could be the problem, but even after changing the camber...the car continued to pull to the right
so, thats pretty much what's happening...anything else i'm missing out? or forgetting? how can a camber kit cause steering issues?...o yea i had NO steering/pulling/alignment issues before throwing the camber kit on..
here..if this helps any bit..

THANKS!

wait...an alignment? for the camber kit? what if the camber adjustment was identical on BOTH sides?
and my alignment prior to this camber kit was PERFECT.
and after making drastic changes to one side of the camber kit...and it yielding NO results...could rule out alignment...cuz then i would be playing with the variable causing this bad aligment, so if i changed the values of this camber, which is causing this 'bad-alignment' issue..it would effect the the car's behavior..but no matter what i do to the camber...the car still pulls to one side...something tells me its not a simple issue of 'alignment'

just get the alignment.
or do it yourself. you should be able to figure out what changes need to be made to make the car drive straight again.
its easy to do. just need a 22mm wrench.

yea..i just mentioned this in the post above yours and the first post of this thread...i ADJUSTED and PLAYED around with the camber kit...pulled one side down at time... didn't matter what i did...it pulled to the right...regardless..

alright stop the pissing match right now
first off you should get an alignment because when every you change any angle ie camber and caster, its GOING TO change toe. when any tech performs an alignment you always do toe last, is just how it works. so get it aligned.
also when you tightened up the upper ball joint were the wheels straight ahead or were they turned? if they were turned you might have a memory steer case, althought i doubt it.

There are too many varibles for you to get it right. Please believe us. ride height, toe, caster, bent parts, or worn parts. You need to get it close and get it to an alignment shop soon. Unless you want to buy new tires soon. I have seen tires go away in one week. The guy was so pissed! Some of us do try to help out.

Yep. Just get an alignment dude. It's what....$50-60 tops.
Even if you didn't have any issues before installing the kit. Everybody knows that after you install a camber kit, you get an alignment! At least I thought so.

Post your alignment print-out from after the camber kit installation, and I will be able to help you.

ok..all your posts have convinced me to get an alignment so as of tomm. i'll take in my car for alignment....
on that note, i know i'm going to get the alignment..do tires have an effect on this sort of alignment? because as of rite now i'm on my daily driver all-weather tires and i'll be taking in my car for alignment on these wheels, but usually i'm riding on some falkens, i just didn't want the car's alignment conformed to a specific type of wheel/tire or whatever......so thats my only left over concern..

No, your only concern will be possible clearance issues with your corrected camber against your fender wells. I know on every 88-91 car I've had that's had corrected camber, if I've got some aftermarket 15's with a good size tire, it'll srape the fenders during certain driving conditions.
But as far as if they'll alter the actual alignment process, no; the specs will be the same regardless of what tires/wheels you have.
For instance, if your toe is set correctly with a 13" wheel, and you repalce it with a 15" wheel, nothing will change.

ok yea..so my alignment was off the charts...front right was like -2.60° for camber..but all in all that's all i needed i guess just an alignment..cost me $50 well worth it, but thanks for pointing me the rite direction even though i kept thinking it was something else causing this behavior!
