Integra trailing arms on an EM1.....will they work??!
Ok, so from all the research I had done it should have worked but sure didnt. Last night I started my 5 lug conversion and I had the intent to swap out just the rear hubs on my 00 EM1. Well, when I get the hub off amd put the 5 lug hub on I realize that the spindle is 1/2in too short for the ITR 5 lug hub. I pull it off and look at the difference and the EM1 hub's bearing is 1/2in deeper into the hub than the ITR 5 lug hub. So the dilemma is now this. I will need DC2 trailing arms because of the longer spindle. Thing is will they line up and work properly on the EM1 chassis? I have heard all along that the dc2 and EK chassis civics trailing arms are all the same, but they obviously are not. My only concern is that the DC2 trailing arms that I need are the same length and angles are all the same so I can use them on my EM1. I also noticed that another thing I could do is take the spindle assembly off some dc2 trailing arms and toss them onto my em1 trailing arms, but that just seems to be too much of a bitch to do since all the bolts that hold it on are inside the hollow part of the trailing arm. Anyway, please help me!!!
as the LCA's are different between the two cars, and given your current situation, I would conclude that yes, the trailing arms are different.
Of course, you could search the archives/FAQ, as I am pretty sure that the conversion has been covered several times in the past.
