ok theres this kid that tells me 88 4dr civic are lighter than a my 90 crx. he says that there way more renforcement in a 89-91. i think he wrong, he say if i put 88 crx doors on my 90 crx it will save 50lbs. if this is true please tell me. but i think hes retarted. because i would hear this from more people if its true.

4dr lighter? i doubt it. swapping doors saving you weight? true.

of equal MODEL and trim levels the 88's are lighter, but not when you compare an hatch to a 4dr, lol.

the majority of the weight differnce between an 88 Si and a 89 Si is the doors.

88's had the seat belts mounted in the b pillars 89+ had them mounted in the doors.

there are a few execptions, like 89 HF are still pillar mounted, and i believe ALL canadian versions are pillar mounted.

but theres no way that its saves 50 lbs i toke the seat belts out of mine cause i put a 4 point harnesses in mine. just don't see the point in switching doors for like a 20-30lb diff. plus i don't want a dam clown car with 2 diff color doors.

well there are more to the doors than just the seatbelts, think of all the extra re-inforcement needed to make the seatbelts safe.

dude chill i looked there to there not specific it would be like a niddle in a hay stack. i don't like to waste time so don't jump all over someone. just cause you know the answer to a post. people that do that are ****. some one will post and some smart *** just says search just cause. if you can find it than help me out find the thread and post it and ill back down. but don't act like a jerk that why noobs all way leave honda-tech. if some ask what they have to do to get a b16 in the crx don't just say search. give them something to go on like search b16 swap or the link to the thread. and if u say search than by now there shouldn't be any post if you say search because by now everythings been cover so ur saying theres no need for posts anymore.
