white emblems? What white emblems...it's all blurry I didn't even notice that.

How'd you mount the ballasts though? Did you use ziplock/velcro....etc?

Where did you end up putting your ballasts? I need a better location for my driver side one. Passenger side is tied to the abs lines, and driver side is connected to the a/c lines. I need to relocate the drivers side, or put a piece of rubber or something on top. I noticed this weekend that it is rubbing against the mounting bracket for the headlight assembly. It is not bad considering it has been there for a couple of months, but I need to do something.

I'd recommend not having the ballast attached to the ABS lines. Just seems a bad idea to put unnecessary tension on them.

The bolts where the airbox used to mount would be a good place for a bracket for it.

Couldn't you remove the bumper and mount it similar to the way they mounted the ballasts for the JDM conversion on the C-speed Racing site? That's probably what I would do.

That is a nice location, but I think the ballasts would be exposed to the elements. I don't know if that is a good thing or not. If I decide to buy the Xenarcs, then I will probably move the ballasts there, since that is the only place they could go. I took those pictures yesterday evening at about 10pm. Anyone notice my newest mod. The AEM HAI I am tired of my filter constantly needing cleaning, so my bottom half, bypass, and rock filled filter are sitting in the garage.

I have seen the Philips 4300K HID Kit in real life, and even though it is brighter than the average halogen bulb, the color is STOCK ! Definately not worth the money. Philips 6000k or K2 6000k Purple HID kit is the way to go, depending on whether you want the purplish look or not.

Another person who knows nothing about HID and would buy it for the colour

It is also the optics that determine the colour that you see. All OEM HID lights use 4300k, Why don't you read here http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/ and learn something.

If you would buy hid because of the colour, then get some blue bulbs like every other ricer out there

It seems that everytime the topic of hids come up, this same argument arises. I personally planned on purchasing 4300k hid's since they are brighter, but ended up purchasing 6000k since I got a good deal on a groupbuy. I followed the phillips lighting forums for months, and read dozens of web pages on the subject.

First of all, if I remember correctly, k2's purple hid's have coated bulbs. I would stay far away from that.

Anyway, I don't think it is necesary to belittle someone just because they want the visual appeal of factory hid's. Regardless of which you get, they are so far beyond halogen there is no comparison. The first time I turned of my lights at night I said "Oh $hit", out loud. Another interesting point is that on the tegs, even with 6000k hid, you will have more forward light than a lot of the factory equipped cars. Since tegs where made for halogen lighting, the beams are more concentrated in the middle as opposed to a bimmer, whose beams will cover the whole damn freeway if they are in the middle. Unfortunately, they only way we get peripheral light is with fogs.

Lastly the optics combined with the bulb you are using (osram, phillips, etc) determine the appearance of the headlight. At 4300k most people describe the osrams as being more yellow than the phillips. Audi's use osram, and bimmers use phillips. At 6000k phillips are more purple, while the osrams are blue.

So who is more worthy; the guy that spend 10k to get 250hp all motor, or the guy that spends 10k to get 500 hp turbo?

BTW, the ricers know that mine are real... They don't even look the same.

As did I, the point is that we made informed decisions when purchasing, but when someone says that he has seen the 4300k kit and it is not worth the money because the colour looks stock, then he deserves his flaming!

My point is that you should not be spending $400-$500 just because you want "blue lights". The 4300k bulbs are rated at 3200 lumens, three times as mich as the 1000 lumens of the typical halogen bulb. That should be reason enough, with the colour just being a bonus.

I am sure that you realize that if you want the OEM colour, then you need to retro in a set of projectors designed for HID. This will give you the even distribution of light without the hot spot in the center that is present with the integra projectors. (Don't tell me that it isn't there, just take a picture at night, and you will see it). It will also give you the OEM colour as the optics have been designed to block the bottom of the arc where the light is more yellow. It is possible to play with the the shield placement and the housing to get OEM colour. This is what Tony the Tiger has done, and his colour is exactly OEM.

So who is more worthy; the guy that spend 10k to get 250hp all motor, or the guy that spends 10k to get 500 hp turbo?

Is there a post with Tony the Tiger's hid mods? The search is worthless.

I have noticed the hot spots in mine. It would be nice if someone made an aftermarket headlight housing with even light distribution favoring hid for the teg... Anyone?

All you have to do is heat up your lights for 10 minutes in an oven and crack them open. Swap the projector for an Audi or BMW projector, reseal them with silicone and you will have perfect OEM beam pattern and colour

Tony's site is http://www.geocities.com/leunghomepa...ryGSRnew.html. I am not sure if he has pics on there of his HID setup, but you can contact him

don't you thinking that's a little too much light above the cutoff? is there a cutoff at all? taking pics is tricky but some suggestion is that if using a film camera, use at least 400 speed, and if you're using a digital camera, set the shutter speed to higher so that the shutter is only open for a very , very, short time. here's some pics of my hids, notice the cutoff (it's there so you don't blind other drivers coming towards you)
