Default Swap help.

So im swapping the d15b2 out tonight, and It's my second day so far trying to swap this thing out. It's an automatic by the way.

I jacked the car up all the way 30 inches, and the engine is lying on the floor with just a cable attached. im gonna slide the motor out.

The problem: Theres this cable running from under the car to the tranny it seems, And thats all i have left to detach, How do i take it off? Ive searched, but i dont know the exact name of it.

Help please. and thanks for those who can help.

Probably the speedo cable. (That was the last thing holding my b2 in when I did this last weekend )
Get under that boot and pop off the little clip that holds the cable in place. If you've ever taken manual window cranks off, you'll know the clip. It looks like a Hershey kiss without the flat bottom part haha.....

But don't let the engine hang by the speedo cable!!

I thought the speedo cable went through the firewall? I was thining it was like a shift lever of some sort.

Ahh....you're right. It's got to be some kind of automatic-only cable.....??

It's the gear selector cable. If your switching to 5spd, cut it, it's what I did. If your keeping it, there is a pin that needs to be remove for it to slide out...but since your this far, cut it, and do the 5spd swap haha.

It's out now.

Future reference for n00bs:

I removed the center console and took off a Lock Pin holding the cable, and just pulled the cable out.
