Default 89 usdm si --> 88-89 ukdm si cluster conversion

I am trying to take a 89 crx si cluster (3 pins total, one is a small blue pin)

and fitting in a ukdm si cluster (NOT VTEC) unit

I know it's been done. I'm mentioning the 7200 red limit indicator and the 150mph gauge.

I redid the odometer to the correct mileage (tricky but doable)
I tried swapping the guts of the two but unless I start trimming into the usdm housing I don't think the guts will fit.
I tried just plugging it in but for instance, hit your right turn signal & the high beam indicator comes on.
So there's minute differences out there wanted to know if anyone else had this same application & solved it.
For now I guess I'll throw the uk one in and see if the coolant/fuel/rpm/mph works and ride out bojangled

Or i'll just throw the usdm one back in

looks like this weekend's electrical project, tips for depinning clips?

nadie

going to just have to figure it out

no tach, no coolant, turn signal is goofy, hazards are goofy, speedo works, no dimmer controls (whatever it's not bright enough)
etc

what's the blue plug for in the centers of the 89 crx si usdm

You shouldnt have to do any trimming to fit the UK guts into the USDM cluster. Cluster came from two different suppliers, Nippon Denso and Nippon Seiki, and parts only interchange between the same kinds of clusters. Find a donor cluster to match your UKDM cluster so you can swap the guts into it. Itll work perfectly after that, ive done it a few times.

man, b series vss is easier to get to than a d series : P

Ok so this is some digging I've done.

4 clusters laid out on the table (yah 4)
88-89 usdm civic (or maybe crx) si cluster
Labeled "A0" with a line thru the 0
- It has only two plugs & no center blue plug.
88-? UKDM 150mph 7200 rpm redline cluster
Labeled "E4"
-It also has only 2 plugs & no center blue plug.
(Now if I was swapping clusters into my hatchback I would be set I'm sure by just swapping out the guts of the two.
(vehicle spoken of 88 HB DX model) A0 Already works in it. Plug & Play.

My other car:
1989 crx si.
Labeled "A2" 3 plugs
-it has the two outer plugs like the others but an additional smaller blue plug into the center of the cluster.

Now I'm beginning to map out the crx's wiring harness VS. the Euro Wiring Harness.

It may be too much work & make me stick with the 130mph top numbering.
