spark on crankshaft
i manage a local autoparts store and a shade tree mech. came in and told me he was working on a 95 honda van (f22 sohc), like the topic says the motor is arching at the crankshaft. I have no earthly idea what would cause this. I asked him if it was a short he said no. has anyone heard of this, if so what will fix it. By the way just bought a new ride 2002 civic 4 door. It's nice but it's no crx.

uhh.. how did he find out that it was arcing on the crankshaft??? and what train of thought led him to check for such an event??
there is a ground from the valve cover to the front of the car, and another from the transmission to the frame of the car.. so if either one of those are not intact, then that may be part of the problem.. but this is a very strange problem.

that's what i thought about after i posted this. i didn't know about the ground on the transmission though. i'll pass this info on, anyone else.
