Default I cant figure it out, Shifting.

Okay, I sold my acura legend for 2500, i had bought it for 2000 so i am satisfied. I recently purchased a Mitsubishi Eclipse for 5100.

Anyways, i can shift from 1-5 easily, but when i am on a hill i try to shift from N to 1st it stalls, any tips on how to shift it on a hill?

When I am on the hill and I try to shift the car rolls back a little.

I don't know if I should tell you. It's an old chinese secret.

OK, hold the E-brake on until you feel the clutch engage then let off the E-brake.

I feel like your older brother now! It also works in reverse.

Shouldn't be downshifting to first while moving.

That's one way, you can also just practice to where you can rev to 2500 rpm, let off the brake and clutch just right, and go forward smoothly. It's easy once you get timing and pedal pressure down right. I used to have the same problem last year when I first started driving stick too, so don't feel bad. Just practice.

try to practice getting on the gas instantly after you release the break when on flatland...then you'll be fine on uphills...

Is it hard to learn how to drive a stickshift in a short amount of time because I plan on getting a new car in the next few months and I wanted to get a stick and the little experience I do have is driving across a parking lot a couple times and not even getting out of first

Well, learning how to do it takes no time at all.
You'll be ok, just dont try double clutching when you first drive, or any other special kinds of things. Just drive so it dont stall and you'll perfect it someday.
