Default SRS / Driver Side airbag problem

I have a 95 Accord 4dr LX, and the SRS is killing me. The DTC keeps telling me that the driver side airbag has been deployed. I purchased a new bag, and the code keeps popping up even after resetting the memory.

Sometimes the light will come back on after 30 seconds, sometimes after 45 minutes. I've seen a bunch of speculation (voltage, etc). Has the same thing happened to anybody else?

If the SRS light keeps coming on even after resting the memory and replacing the airbag, i would consider the possibility of a faulty SRS unit.

Just a thought, but maybe if you know some one with the same model u could borrow their unit to see if that fixes the problem.

Every time an airbag deploys you MUST replace the SRS unit. Sorry to see you wasted your money.
Good luck though.

that's the strange thing though--the airbag hasn't deployed, i'm just getting the DTC code for driver side bag deployed even after replacing.

i may try replacing the srs control unit i suppose, since i doubt the driver bag would deploy in a crash at the moment.

thanks

I have a similar problem with my 2001 Accord Coupe. My passenger Side Airbag light comes on now since we had a bad rain storm. I read in the manual that if it gets wet it could work improperly and so now the light comes on for about 10 seconds and goes off. It has been doing this since yesterday. I don't know if I just need to let it dry out or what but it is pretty frustrating. Anyone have any similar experience with this?!?

But the airbag has deployed at some point with that SRS unit. As soon as an SRS unit deploys an airbag, the unit is no good.

You need to let the car sit for about 30 minutes with the a/c on full blast and the recirculate button pressed. That will dry the seat out.
