Default Sohc Turbo? or fresh start with B16? Poll @

Ok guys im kinda in a mixup in what I wanna do with my honda. I feel like ive kinda cheaped out on my crx going with the sohc zc. So im trying to cook up a scheme for a b16 maybe, but I dunno if it would be the best really since ive already wasted 600 on this SOHC. Im thinking im gonna have like $2500 or so to play around with which I know I could score a b16 w/ LSD for that I just dont know if it would even be worth it since this engine I have is brand new I guess I could always sell it. So i wanna hear some input I guess on what you all would do if you were in my situation.

Choice A. Start completely over order b16 W/ LSD ?

Choice B. Drop 2500 into this current engine build it up to maintain high boost lvls ?

Choice C. Sell my rex, buy a del sol body and a B16 for it and then paint it ?

Input any1 any1 ?

if you have 2500 to play w/ you can put that all in the sohc zc and make way more power if you spent the 2500 on a b16 swap....so just turbo the zc

with that 2500, you can turbo charge your sohc motor and you should be pretty happy already, but what I would do is get the b16 and go from there so you can have a better base to start off with. here's a link of some guys in my area's stock sohc crx turbo charged: http://media.putfile.com/Slopp...CRX87

this is up here in Alaska.

That is what im thinking im just so jealous of everyone and their sweet hondas popping their hood and boom that b is gleaming. Im vtecless I feel left out my good buddy cruises around in an 03 type S, popping vtec all the time makes me want that B even worse, but I guess hes gonna end up paying 20grand for his car so its all good its not that fast for 20 grand. If we dropped that much into our old cars we would run circles around that dam type s, well im sure alot of you already do I just wanna smoke him good and show him that you dont need to buy a NEW car to go fast...he thinks its an ENZO though and nothing can stop it...I wanna show him that a K can be beat especially a bolt on special I mean hes not boosted or nothing he thinks hes honda god

with 2500 to put into a zc sohc, wich, is what I also have, will run freaking circles around his car.

also, go check out d-series.org

there are plenty of amazing single slams there and a ton of great info..

turbo is a billion times more fun then N/A no matter what anyone says. it is a little less reliable (depending on tuning/setup) but if you do everything right you will never regret it. i didnt.

You dont think ill need new valves and valvesprings or anything along those lines? not even new injectors or rail ? Are you saying I should start trying to put together my turbo setup without doing anything under there ? Sorry im kinda noobie to this scene I figured id have to upgrade something if I wanna run some higher boost lvls maybe. Or are you saying I can boost it but the only thing is ill have to run low boost level. Oh and thanks for all the feedback guys I figured out pretty much that turbo was the way to go I dunno why I even posted guess I just needed to hear it from some1 else I just got vtec fever I need to get over it for now atleast maybe someday Oh and it is cheaper to try and put together your own kits rather than some ebay kit or something like that right ?

injectors are a must, other then that maybe some colder plugs. you can run 7-8psi fine on a good tune. checkout http://www.homemadeturbo.com for a shiteload of good info.

why not boost the b16? roll stock on the b16 for a while then make that engine your boost project.

D: get alot of PCP and rob a bank buy lambo.

Sometimes it's nice to start new, I have done that before. But 2500 into a building motor you can make a quick sohc.

I'd go with the B myself.

Yea id like to order a fresh B and boost it sure, but that would take more time cause ordering the B itself is gonna run me 2500 at the least I know for sure. Mounts ($300), shift linkage ($100), and how can you pass on the LSD($300) right So then I would have a stock motor thats built for some high reving action, but my turbo plans would be shot down for the summer, because I would have to save up and with the B theirs so much more out there for it...that toda site...makes me drool. Anyways yea a B would defintely give me way more potential in the long run cause yea, I would eventually save up and turbo it ofcourse, BUT im young and impatient lol I need instant gratification all the time its sickening I wish I had patience, but I dont. If I was smart though your right I would go with the B save my money and have that vtec ive always wanted...and damn for some reason I want a del sol really bad now but thats a dream ive been looking at Noels too much(May2005HT) why cant we all have like 7 different decked out hondas to drive, 1 for each day of the week, thats when ill be happy LOL

edit: no not 2500 at this very second but I do have a fund started and we scored this big job im seeing some GOOD paydays these next couple of weeks so its got my brain frantically wondering ya know how it goes

well that does sound nice, hell go for the b, once you see the difference between dohc vtec and your sohc zc you might evne decide to go all motor, but boost is still fun... haha enjoy which ever you go through with.

Yea these cars are fun it becomes an obsession of modifying yours to your own hearts desire. I want another honda already to play around with, I want 1 I can rack up some miles on, drive to work and not worry bout getting it dirty, and maybe baby that crx, but everything costs money and I hate coughing up insurance money for one car now, I cant think of giving them 2 payments Oh well I guess I can say I have the cleanest crx in town I guess thats cool :D

Please save another Dseries sohc!!! You dont have to jump on the M4d 7yte b16 nut swinger bandwagon like everyone else...its so so so overrated.

the only time i would swap is when i fry an engine and get a great deal on the other...plus even at high boost, if you grenade your zc, another is only 400 dollars away, try saying that about a B.

again vtec does not solve your problems just cuz your friends and there grandmas have it. dude $2500 on the zc why they hell you going to go b16 when you got a fresh zc sohc in your ride. use what you got and youll see a major improvement and be patient. boost it or supercharge it . plus if you want to go b-series go for the b18c1 instead the b16 is torqueless and sucks ***** very overated unless boosted. plus the sohc zc has a better "wow" value when you beat a b-series believe me i get it all the time. damn do you have a built b16 in there or a ls/vtec. lol you decide
