car starts, doesnt start, than starts?
my car is a 2000 accord 2dr V6 EX....Im at school today and i go to start my car after classes had ended, and it turns over at normal speed, except one thing is wrong, it doesnt fire at all, not even an attempt to fire. so after about three tries i call my dad up and he tells me to lock, unlock, lock (all using the keyless FOB) than he tells me to unlock the car using my key than to lock it again with the fob, and unlock it again using the fob ...note: after every unlock i tried starting the car....but for some reason after all that the car started up as usual, the engine cranked three times, and it fired....My dad said i had to reset my security system..has anyone else had this problem? is this some what normal? or is there something seriously wrong with the car?
wow that would bug the hell out of me. My cousin has an accord and that will happen to him every so often, just cause it knows he's in a hurray. Actually you have a key less entry/remote for your car. you might want to go to the dealer and ask for a new remote. and if that doesn't work i'm out of ideas
your dad isn't sure what he's talking about then.
All you have to do is unlock it.
Sounds like your main relay is going bad. Next time it does that open the doors for about 5 mins and see if it starts. If that's the case then you need to replace the main relay. You would have thought Honda would have gotten it right by then.

I have a 98 accord that doesn't want to always start. It's usually in the mornings. It cranks but that's it. It's getting spark and fuel. I took it to the dealership and they replaced them main relay. Two days later it wouldn't start again,so I took it back to the dealership. They kept it for 3 days and said it started up fine for them everytime. They also said they hooked it up to diagnostics and "all systems check" "unable to duplicate problem at this time". So this morning it wouldn't start again.
then you need to leave it at the dealer overnight so they can try to start it in the morning. It's hard to diagnose an intermittant no start problem. You just have to hope the car acts up when the shop has it.
