Idling problem if anyone can help

Default Idling problem if anyone can help

i have a 95 civic cx with a d16y8 it has a bbk throttle body and a edelbrock intake nifold with secondaries injectors. My question is when i start my car it idles at 1000 then jumps to 2000 and stays there and when i drive it breaks up between 2-3 grand. if i unplug the iacv it idles at 700. any info will help

when i start the car the idle is around 1000 but sucks in and stays at 2grand with no problem at idle but if you take off the intake and hold one of the ports inside the throttle body it idles just fine.

is it the lower port or the upper port, it could just be your fast idle is loose so it opening, so to much air.

its the upper port and it sucks in hard and idles just fines if i put my finger over the port

then I think it your IAC valve is bad.

did you check the idle air temp. valve? like fully take it apart clean it out and tighten up the big washer thing?
