like the title says, im trying to remove a freeze plug off the back of the block and cannot find a 14mm allen 1/2" socket. i know they make them because ive used one before to rebuild my head. I checked all the local stores and also looked on the matco and snap on websites (maybe im looking for the wring title, i dont know)

I even tried making one. Took a grade 8 bolt, cut it to about an inch, and welded another bolt head on the end. I ended up twisting the stem off the head of the grade 8 bolt and the damn freeze plug didnt budge...

 

I just went out on the mac truck at work and asked, but Kevin was right behind me and said he'd bring it in tomorrow.

 

Don't worry about it, you can't take the car out anyways, unless Schnoog gives you gas money.

I got my 14mm allen socket from Autozone, came in a set of 3 (13, 14, 15mm I think) I think it was Great neck brand or some other cheap brand they sell there.

if you know someone with a suzuki gsxr the spark plug tool fits in there quite well and has good leverage, the outside of the hex is 14mm.

i made one welding a 14mm bolt into a socket.

should have just double nutted a 14mm bolt.
