Just bought a 96 Accord LX
130,000 Miles. I'm very excited! I've always wanted to get a Honda, Civic or Accord. Glad I ended up going with the Accord though. See I've driven a gas guzzling truck for a couple of years and I'm tired of pumping gas and "******* it" on the road. I'm not the only one...I've noticed a HUGE trend in gas sipping Honda and Toyota cars on the roads and I just now jumped onto that banwagen.
I'm not tring to turn this car into a racer, But I'd like it to preform at it's best.
After doing the basic maintenance, Oil chance, Timing belt...ect. I'm looking to improve the power! So I've down some research and Air Intakes, Headers, and Exhaust pipes where kinda the first things people upgraded. I dont wanna spend a ton on mods. The car itself including a new paint job was $4,100 but I also dont want cheap parts.
What's better? Short ram intake vs Cold air intake. And should I install a performance "chip" ?
Thanks for your time, Chris.

Congrats on picking up a 5th gen accord. I would find out if it is still on it's original timing belt asap because if it is you are driving around a time bomb.....
As far as short ram vs CAI and performance there are advantages either way. The f22b2 that is in you 96 accord really doesn't respond well to bolt-on's (decent I/H/E will net you around 10-20 whp) and if I had it to do over again I would have spent the money on suspension.
I would reccomend you read the guide to basic accord that is a sticky at the top of this forum and then do some more specific searches.
Good luck with you new car and welcome to H-T
