Default shifter rattles when moving in gear

Just like topic says..its really annoying and the only way it stops is if I put it in nuetral or keep my hand on the shifter..anyone know why it does that and how it can be fixed? I have a 1990 civic hatchback dx

Bushings die on those. Get some poly urethane ones. The kit is like 15$ from energy suspension and works like a beauty. Nicer and stiffer then stock bushings. They don't wear down as fast and they really hold the stick in place. There is no play in the stick normally when you do it. It's sweet.
