I'm not sure what your source of information is...but you here alot of incorrect things.
KYB AGX's are good struts, if you aren't lowered too much.
As far as hooking better and cutting you 1/4 time...
I had them on my old 00 Coupe. Matched w/ coilover sleeves then H&R sports and ST drop forks and pro arms. The KYB/H&R combo was terrific

i'm just want the car to be car faster on the street and this just seems to be the best way because i don't want to break into the internals of the motor. but i need the traction, i have lsd but if the tire aren't staying on the road its not helping

Do what??

Swapping your struts will not solve traction problems. A traction bar, springs and good tires will help solve traction.

What motor do you have??

yeah, $20 says I can find that exact same avatar pic somewhere else. I was guessing a B16 with him having an LSDI guess if you had beat to hell struts then AGX's would make a world of a difference

it will make a difference over the old stock shocks. The car will ride much stiffer too.

If you get a new set of performance springs, like H&R OE's or similar spring that doesn't lower the car much, but is stiffer than stock, it will be even better.

I have them with GC coilovers. If you have an aggressive drop then you must run these shocks on full stiff or you'll easily bottom out otherwise, they're fine. I think they are great shocks for the money. The adjustment isn't as fine as some other brands but 4 settings isn't bad.
