Default Moon roof / hatch rust

Hi there,

I'm looking at buying the SiR below ... but there is some rust where the hatch meets the glass? up top of the hatch under the hinges. (see pic below)

I was just wondering if this is a costly repair? Maybe the whole glass roof has to come out? Has anyone repaired rust in this place before?

Cheers,
Steve.

I dont think that it will be costly but it may be time consuming. It looks like its rusting right along the seem. By the looks of it it does not look that bad but once you grind away you may uncover alot more under the surface. I would definetely say thats its fixable and could be very inexpansive especially if you know someone who can weld.

I'd do it! That looks fairly simple to repair...

That is fixable, like stated above it is just going to take patience and time. BTW it appears the steering wheel is broke too, it is on the wrong side.

Yeah that is definitly fixable grind it all away, re-seam seal it, spray it with por-15, then body color. Yeah there is definitly something wrong with that car. It needs a glass roof not a moon roof!
