I decided to try a new avenue for my exhaust and found on ebay a 2.5" exhaust.

Here is what the auction was advertising...

unfortunately, when i got it... the piping was:



hmmm... not 2.5"... that was the whole point of buying this thing was for the 2.5" piping... and at $225 shipped... it seemed like a steal. it might have been.

So, i get to talk to the seller and see if i can get a full refund... unless i got the wrong product.

That's what happens when you go the cheap route, is it even stainless ? Had a customer with the same exhaust come in 2 weeks after he bought it, had a nice size hole right in the catback area.

kteller 2.5 piping is like $200 now a days, can't beat that.

As far as the refund goes, its not that you want a refund, its false advertisement. Tell them you will get ebay involved and see what they say, if they still make you pay, get ebay involved for false listings.

Nope... unwrapped it. looked at it. measured it. went "well, that sucks". Looks like a bolt on affair, so that's a plus (compared to my KTeller which is welded).

well, close to $350 shipped with nice muffler.


I already have a Kteller... I was looking for something that was a bolt on to test the two. but hey, someone's gotta test the water to see if it's warm enough for the rest to jump in.

Now, no where does it say "Inner Diameter" or "Outer Diameter"... so I will give you the benefit of the doubt. If you believe I have the right product, then there is something definitely wrong. It seems that the piping has shrunk on during shipping, as the outer diameter (OD) of the piping isn't 2.5" either. In reality, it's actually 2.25" and not the 2.5" that you are advertising in your auction.
I'm not an attorney, but I can imagine if I were selling a product and advertised the product as having being crafted with 2.5" piping... and the piping is in fact 2.25", I might have some legal liabilities.

This is the "s" pipe that connects the resonator pipe to the B pipe:

Oddly enough, the OUTSIDE diameter isn't 2.5" either. In fact, it's 2.25".

This is one end of the same pipe:

Shipping shrinkage again... except this pipe managed to get down to UNDER 2". Even the flange is only at 2".

The straight pipe with the resonator:

2.25" outer diameter.

Please let me know how I can receive my $225 back, including the cost of shipping the product back to you. The product was never installed, simply removed from the high quality packaging (aka, UPS boxes and what appears to be DVD player covering).

Thank you for your email. We only have one size in the piping. The measurment you gave of 2.25" is the inside diameter. The listing states 2.5" is the outside diameter. That is how the industry standard states the diameter is by the outside diameter. Like when they say it is 3" piping for turbo cars, it is also refer to the outside diameter. Our listing does not say that it is the inside diameter. You have the right product.

the quality is good. no doubt. if you saw this exhaust in a store front for $95... it's worth it. of course, the sellers reduce the cost of the product and make it up in shipping... it does not cost $115 to ship this product from California to Vegas.

The bends are largely mandrel bent... some areas look to be crush bent. The muffler tip is massive and the muffler itself is pretty large. The piping is pretty light considering. The Kteller exhaust is much heavier.

In one area the piping goes down to 1.75", which is a huge reducer from the 2.5" they are quoting.

the exhaust piping is actually 2.25" and not 2.5". If I knew it was 2.25", I wouldn't have bothered with the purchase, considering my header has a 2.5" collector.

I got an email from the seller and it seems like they're going to refund me my money... i just don't know how much.

That sucks.

I hate shaddy *** sellers on eBay that don't know their product. The seller probably drop shipped it anyways.

But yeah, they have a legal responsibility to give you what was described in the auction. I took a number of law classes and I remember specifically that if a seller represents one thing and what you recieve is significantly different, then the seller is on the hook for ALL costs associated with restoring you to your original position. Which in this case would mean refunding all the costs you have already incurred plus return shipping to them.

I have the same catback. It does have the bottleneck at that one spot. But I have to say for the money the exhaust is great. I love the way it sounds and fits. I got mine from a local dealer for 200 though.

its true tho, nowdays kteller is a good exhaust for a good price, and stainless steel from them is real cheap, and you can get a wide range of piping diameter

for what its worth 2.25-2.36-2.5 those are all going to roughly give you the same volume of exhaust flow.

I did read the whole thread. Kteller exhausts come with flanges, so what makes you think his Kteller doesn't already have flanges?

He wants an exhaust that bolts up so he can switch them out without having to weld. But he didn't say anything about his Kteller not having flanges.

then this makes no sense. if the kteller pipe has flanges, then why does he need something that does not need welding. that makes no sense.

 

im surprised some of you actually liked the design of this muffler. i actually picked this up 2 years ago. As soon as i received i did not like it. The fact that the muffler was so huge made me sick. I did hook it up for one day. I bottomed out on it at stock height. Needless to say i took it off the second day and thx god the seller thought the same thing i did and return mymoney in full.
