so i heard 01 integras are still the hottest cars to steal like any other hondas, but ive also bene told of this key that should prevent theifs. i use the club and an alarm reguardless if that wuill stop a theif, but im curious to know more about this 01 key for integra and if it posses any chip or any device that prevents my car from getting stolen without it. Any info would help thanks.. and no guessing i want to hear from people who know what they talking about

 

2000 up integras have immobilizers as a factory option on LS's and stock on GSRs/ITRs. dithc the club also that is not stopping anyone

the immbolizer is in essence a chip that stores a code inside the key... so in order to start the car the chip must be within range of the reciever which is in the steering column. the term laser key is usually used when reffering to how the key is cut -- IE new bimmers use laser cut keys... no honda's have laser cut keys though,(sidewinders are used on 03+ models)

 

so how are gsrs being jacked if that is offered in the keyt

doesn't matter how many alarms, kill switches, immobilizers, etc. you have, a determined thief w/ a towtruck can still get your car. as far as i know, lojack is the only way to stop a thief like this

 

lojack dont do justice. what time do theives steal cars? very late at nite. by then you be asleep.. you wont even notice your car is gone til probably the next morning where the car is stripped already. my best advice is get a garage and back up alarm. or better yet, get the parking tix boot. where you lock your front wheel
