the 2135 TI is where its at! ive had mine for almost 2 years now and i haven't had any problems what so ever. 1000 ft lbs of nut busting torque! i think they are going for under 300 right now. haven't looked at one since i got one anyways im a diesel mechanic and every other mechanic in my shop has one of these guns (and the 3/8" version the 2115 TI )
sears sells them, that where i got mine. (i think it was 280.00 actually)

I cant emphasize on this point enough...
10:1 your current gun is fine, you just need to increase you air VOLUME.
To do this you need to run 1/2 air lines with the larger connectors.
3/8s line isn't really big enough to get tough jobs done.

doubt it, 25 gallon tank, 120 psi (i could probably bump it to 130 psi without crossing into the red), ill check the hose size aswell when i get home.

I just bought the IR 2135TI off ebay myself...nowhere near 300 bucks either. Got it brand new for 179.00 plus some shipping.
The gun is a BEAST...very, very fast and alot of torque for a very light and easy to handle gun. It WILL break stuff...bolts, sockets, extensions, you name it. Works well, but use care cause it'll rip some stuff apart.
I have a 33gal runnin at 130 psi (to attempt to make up for lack of volume), and it works well, but I think you misunderstood what the guy who posted above meant. Going to 1/2 line will deliver alot more volume of air to the gun and increase your current guns output by a large margin....as it would with this TI that I am using. It'll rip stuff off, but a tough crank pulley bolt on one of my H22's wouldn't move period.
1/2 lines are the way to go, but with 1/2 line you need alot more than 20 some gallons...unless you have one hell of a pump to keep up. Either way though, just doesn't make sense to have small tank for large consumption items. If you had adequate air, you would never see the need to push more than 90psi like most tools are design for. Just keep that in mind when you bust out your new 2135TI...3/8 line will only deliver so much...real power comes via more air volume.

Consider how many cubic feet per minute of air are flowing to your tool to rate its power output, not the pressure of the air. Heavy duty tools require more air, measured in cubic feet per minute, to power them.
I'm really really not being a jerk here, but 25 gallons is nothing, that's the size of a small portable compressor which is what I'm guessing you have. Can you tell us what kind of compressor it is so we're sure you have enough compressor to power your gun? I would hate for you to have to buy a new gun, and think its junk, when upgrading your compressor would make you really happy with the tools you have.

can go wrong with this! if this gun doesnt take it out then that nut or bolt is never getting out and it would be time to bring out the grinder!

Craftsman impact here. 500 ft/lb has worked well for me. I'm running a 30g tank for this as well.
Not sure what that gun costs (might have missed the price), but I've had decent luck with Harbor Freight. I've bought some of their electric power tools and they take a beating ok. I've not tried their air tools yet though.

already baught the gun, but the compressor IS portable, but DEFINATELY not small,

it looks something like that but the tank is like twice the size almost, we couldent fit it through the door to the basement so we had to use the opening for the oil tank to bring it down there i have to go to work now, or else i'd check it, also, my brother yesterday braught a cracked hose from the honda dealership he wors at and fixed it, so i have 1/2" hose now

Dude, your joking I hope. That compressor is a runt. You ain't hangin with the big boys until you get at least two piston pumps and 60+ gallons. That's puny compared to that. Looks like a descent pump though for single cylinder...descent size at least. Definitely good enough for hobby stuff and small consumption tools like nail guns and stuff. I guess that's what makes it "professional". It's got a bit bigger pump with an alright tank in a portable package.

He said the tank is twice that size. Considering the post was one long incomplete sentence, I could see how you could miss that.
Still not a giant compressor by any means.

No doubt man, I ain't knockin your 25 gallon. Just emphasizing the lack of size due to the fact you don't seem to understand what it takes to really make an impact put out. I am sure you get what is being said here, you just responded by saying your compressor is by no means little. 25 gallons though, definitely isn't big.
I have had my 33 gallon for a while, and it has been fine. One day soon though I am gonna have to just go out and build something larger and run me some fattie air lines.

I've got the ingersoll rand titanium thunder gun. Never had a problem busting off any nuts with my 25 gallon compressor.
That just means you haven't had anything that tight or your full of dooky. I had a crank pulley bolt and an an axle nut that thing ain't touchin.
Gallons has little to do with it anyway...as stated here how many times.

hehe you guys have NO idea how bad cars rust in Ontario. The amout of salt in
t he winter is rediculas. a 390ft/lb gun will NOT cut it for axle nuts. You need a minimum 500ft/lb gun. I have a Candian tire Professional impact gun rated at 480ft/lbs. 3-4 years beat to ****, and still takess off %90 of axle nuts. For the other %10 see below
For a cheap effective one, get one from princess auto. Their big ones will work on your small compressor and you'll either get all the bolts out, or break them. Either way you get the part out lol. get one of there large air hammers too.

The other way to get the axle nuts of that i use is a 1inch drive giant breaker bar, with my jack handle over the end. Then push off a wall, or post, with all 280lbs of me hahah. That has yet to fail me

I have plenty of idea....I've been battling suspension bolts for years thanks to PA's salt infatuation. I have conquered everything except for one axle nut which is on one of the cars I own now. Multiple impacts, breaker bar with a 3.5 foot tube over the end and me pouncing on it after heating it, while someone holds the brake with the car on the ground.....nothing except a torch is taking this one off.
I ended up lifting out the stock CX swap and popping the axle from the tranny as I lifted it out. Dropped in JDM ZC swap and just put the axle back in the tranny as I lowered it in. The car is only a beater/work truck and the axle is in good shape luckily (beside the nut that is....haha). Been driving it over a year now and no clickin so....until that day.
