Hi, I have a 00 accord 4cyl. auto. Some of the time when i'm driving, the car will rev up to 4000 rpm. but will stall and jump back to 3500 rpm, if i keep my foot on the gas, it will jump between 3500 and 4000.

I need to let off of the gas so my rpm drops to 3000 before the car will move. it slowly loses speed when it does this.

is the car low on oil by chance? if there isn't enough oil the vtec solenoid will not engage, and that typically happens around 3500-4000 rpms.

 

yep low on oil, checked the car when i got home last night, and no oil, i'm an idiot. but havent been blowing smoke or leaking oil, so not sure where the oil went. but good call. thanks
