Default 06 gsxr600 exhaust on an 04 f4i?

Hey guys I have been throwing around the idea of putting a 06 gixxer exhaust on my f4i for a while now.

I do realize that the air/fuel ratios as well as exhaust back pressure will be messed up by doing this but i intend to remap them using a power commander iii.

I just really want a short exhaust.

If not this then most likely a devil highmount.

What do you guys think?

Why not just buy another exhaust and chop it?

rainmanEK did it to his Sato exhaust and it turned out really well

I was thinking as far as fitment goes that I could just have it welded on to the F4i pipe. I was planning on only putting on the rear section. basically the slip on. But that chopped sato is looking very sexy. I might do that.

even if you welded it the pipe size is prob different. just get a regular pipe and chop it. or buy a normal shorty

if youre talking about the short little guy that pops out the bottom of the new gixxers, theres a whole exhaust box/muffler that sits under the frame/engine if im not mistaken. ill post a pic if i can find one.

good luck with trying to get all that to fit right...

As far as the stock Suzuki pipe, yes. Aftermarket systems, no.

oh ok. i would recommend something else. that is a stock exhaust which is restricted because of noise and emmisions regulations so there's probaby a better system to be had. my $0.02.

yeah pretty much if you want a shorty exhaust like the new gixxer 600/750 or the yamaha one....your going to have to spend a ton of dough on an aftermarket one. Me myself i'd go with the new yoshimura R22 i think it is, for the new gixxer 600.

are you wanting somthing that comes out of the bottome of the farring like on the gsxrs? If your looking to do somthing like that, you would need the full system. Not only that but the new gsxrs have a HUGE muffler under them, that little peice you see coming ou of the side of the bike is just the outlet. The muffler part is actually up under the bike behind the farrings, you would need to chop and cut your farrings to even come close to getting that thing to fit. Also the head pipes are not even going to come close to fitting. I'd say just cut your other exhaust and make it a shorty. Don't waste your money on a exhaust for a 06 GSXR.

yea i noticed that box as well

i looked at the 06 r6 exhaust and i noticed that there was no box in that system.

the 06 r6 muffler apparently has a valve that restricts it a tiny bit. My friend chopped off the muffler and put a black powdercoated straight pipe on his. it sounds pretty quiet considering its a straight pipe.

if anything i think i may look into just a generic jardine pipe since theyre so cheap and chop it.

the 06' r6 has the same thing behind the faring, it's just not as big as the one on the GSXR's but it has an o2 sensor and a catalytic converter in the R6.
