Default gas mileage

I have a 1996 ej8, and I think there is something wrong with my car's fuel consumption. Right now my needle is at E, and I have only done 250 miles, most of which is city. The ej8 has a 12 gallon fuel cell right? SO that would be 20 mpg. Sure I drive it hard sometimes, but thats pretty rare.

So now, what should I change or do? Maybe a tuneup? What does a tuneup consist of? Many thanks

sounds about right actually, city driving can be especially rough on ur mpg, this a standard or an auto?

u can do a tune up just to be on the safe side, not sure how much u'll get out of it, iono about otehr cities, but I can tell u from driving in NYC, it kicks ur *** in mpg

doesn't matter what your needle is reading, how many gallons did you actually put in last time? How many gallons is your tank going to need to read "F"? If you are getting not the greatest MPG change your fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and go from there.

Yeah my car is manual. The last time i filled up i believe it it was 11 gal. Basically it was full tank as I had leftover from last time. So now on a full tank of gas its on the red line, with 250 miles of "suburb" driving.

how much would it cost to change all of those?

the whole tuneup usually doesn't cost u more than 100

But sadly enough, that really does sound accurate, u'd be surprised how much u lose in city drivign, all it is is jackrabbit starts, which is like the worst thing for ur mpg

you should be getting a little bit better mileage than that, but a tune up and everything should help but you are not getting horrible gas mileage. you want horible gas mileage drive my V8
