Put in jdm ecu. Vtec pressure cell, Electrical load detector cell
So I Took out my chipped ecu that was running a stock obd1 usdm gsr program the other day beacuse my car was barely running at Idle and running very rich. Slapped in the jdm obd1 ecu p72( I have a jdm B18c ) and the car is running much better but no vtec and I have codes for vtec pressure sensor and electical load detector. I"ve been told if i do not jumper the electrical load detector it will not trigger a cell.( Im assuming that means to take that wire from the harness. ) Can anyone confirm that? I need a pinout for the jdm p72 if any one has one and a solution to my vtec problem as it would seem that the wiring is differant because i had vtec with the chipped ecu.
Thanks
Mark

"I have codes for vtec pressure sensor"
there is the reason you have no VTEC.
search the civic forum, it's easy to bypass. (jumper the oil pressure signal wire from the ECU to the VTEC signal wire)

96 up jdm did not have a vtec pressure switch or Eld, 94-95 jdm motors did. The usdm ecu is your problem, i beleive there are fixes so you can use the usdm ecu, a 96 up jdm gsr ecu and jumper harness would elimate your issues, or you can chip your ecu and disable vtec pressure switch and eld, or you can add the sensors.
hope this helps, good luck

I kinda see what your saying but does this mean the fix bosted above to join the VTEC oil-pressure wire to the VTEC sensor and not to jumper the electrical load detector. And when you VTEC sensor do you mean VTEC solinoid?

he's saying your 96 motor doesn't have a VTEC Pressure Switch (VTPS); 96+ JDM engines don't run a VTPS, but all OBD1 JDM engines do as well as all US VTEC engines, as seen here:

You're using a JDM OBD1 ecu, which is looking for the VTPS but you don't have one, hence the check light you're getting. Once your clear the VTPS code and reset the ecu, the ELD code should go away.....
An easy fix for the VTPS is to splice the VTPS power wire to the single VTEC Solenoid (VTS) wire. As for the other VTPS wire (ground) don't worry about it, just quick-splice the VTPS positive/power wire to the VTS wire, reset the ecu (by unplugging it for about 1 minute) and your VTPS problem should go away.

excellent
did you do the splice trick?
