compression ratio
Is there an optimal compression ratio that you want for your motor? Currently building a D16 and I was told that going low is not always the best. Plan on boosting with 13-14 psi with a jrsc rebuilt by endyn. Endyn was saying that they normally don't build motors any lower than 9.2-1 CR and that going lower was not the route to travel these days. any ideas as to why this is?
What will you be using for fuel management? There are so many better options as far as engine management systems today than there were 5~6 years ago. Moreso for those that have forced induction. Thus, the theory of having to use lower c/r pistons with boost is becoming a thought of the past.
going with low or high compression and low or high boost will be the difference when it comes to boosting...... a higher compression motor with low boost will be easier to hit your hp goal, a lower compression motor with higher boost will be a little harder and need more supporting mods like fuel management and such
so high vs low compression depends on alot of other factors to take into consideration
