ok. well i was driving around this weekend and i popped my hood like always to make sure everything was ok. I noticed there was axle greese on the fire wall and behind the engine. and now i noticed a knocking so im pretty sure my axles need to be replaced. i have a 1992 civic hb cx model with a 2nd gen b16. what axles do i buy? 1999 2000 si axles?

 

any dohc vtec axels should work

ok. ive heard auto zone sells axles and they have lifetime warranty replacements. would those be good? or should i just get some OEM 1999-2000 si front axles?

 

autozone axles should be fine..oem would just cost you an arm and a leg

alright cool. another question is, when replacing a thermostat on a swapped car like mine. should i get a better one/high performance? since im going to be beeting on the car should i upgrade from oem or stay stock? thanx

 

in the summer just run no thermostat at all, you should get 94-97 del sol VTEC axles from autozone, when its winter throw the thermostat back in and you'll be fine. Taking the thermostat out allows the coolant to flow through the engine at all times and will keep the motor cooler

stay stock you'll be fine.

don't do that, the engine is designed to operate at a specific temp, thats why vtec dosn't work till your car gets to a certain temperature. its just a bad idea

No. No. No. BAD IDEA.

1. the car needs to hit operating temp. with thermostat on all the time it can't do that for a very long time.

2. it can lead to over cooling on the freeway

3. a thermostat does not cost that much so why would you have to resort to that

 

my friend had a b16a2 in his vx hatch. replaced the axles with del sol b16 axles. worked perfect. and he even got the core $$$.

hey guys. whats up? anyways, i was researching on the internet for boost. one of my friends gave me his awd stock eclipse turbo and side mount to me for free! and some intercooler piping. My question is, do they make the manifolds needed to bolt up that turbo to the b16?it is a internally waste gated turbo from the old awd turbo eclipses
