A few carbon fiber hood questions for my '91 CRX DX
I have been doing some searching but I want to be totally positive before I drop any money on a carbon hood. Here are my questions:
1) Will a hood from an 88-91 Civic Hatch fit my '91 CRX DX?
2) Where can I get the best price on a VIS hood right now?
3) Should I stay away from E-bay carbon hoods like these ones?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW
4) Is it REALLY necessary to use hood pins on these if they also use the stock latch? If so why?
Thanks in advance fellas!
Jamie

It depends on what you are buying the hood for. Are you buying it for LOOKS ONLY, or functionality. If it's for FUNCTION>FASHION, I personally would stay away from Ebay hoods

Right now the CRX is pretty much stock. I'm building this car as a long term (2-5 year) project. I'm planning on making a car that is a blast on the street and could even be taken to the track on the weekends. I'm thinking that I'll eventually do a B16 swap to it, but right now everything is pretty much stock.
The car has a nice Type-R white paint job on it, except for the hood. The current hood on the car looks terrible, so I thought instead of paying to have the body work done I'd just get a carbon fiber hood for the car.
As far as my long term project is concerned, will I have fitment issues with the carbon hood and a B16 swap? Right now I'm just wanting something that looks good, but 2-3 years from now I need it to be functional also as I get more and more serious about this project.
Any input would be appreciated.

I'd really rather spend the money on other stuff, but this CRX looks PERFECT except for the hood. I'm thinking more and more about going with one of the ebay carbon fiber hoods....
I would stay away from it. They get little cracks, chips, the weave might not be right and there is nothing you can do with any of those to fix it other than paint it in some cases. Then you should add hood pins so that it doesn't shutter and look like it is going to fall off and crack it as it twists.

Sounds like you have your mind made up. Which make me wonder why you ask for opinions.

My mind is not made up. I'm wanting to get suggestions from people on this, which is specifically why I started the thread. I am always open to hearing ideas. Is there anyone friendly on this forum? good grief....

Who is a good fiber images dealer? I checked on the fiber images website for distributors, but most of the links on their site are broken....
