Default Using harnesses with stock seats: safe?

Hello. First, I don't have an S2000, I have S2000 seats in my 2001 Prelude. I want to install harnesses, but I want to do it right. Autopower rollbar (or some other quality roll bar or harness bar), quality harnesses (takata?) and, if necessary, racing seats.

However, I like the S2000 seats I have, so I was curious, would it be safe to use harnesses with them? Would it be safe to, say, cut out the mesh and run harnesses through there?

I haven't purchased anything yet, so I'm still in the research stage and I want to keep this safe. So if running harnesses through the mesh is a bad idea, then I'd appreciate the heads up.

Thanks for any help.

i think if you run them through the mesh area they will be too high up or too close together and may harm you more than save you. More i think about it i havent had those seats in my S for awhile now so i really dont remember how high the back portion is.

WoRd.

You know what youre talking about. The back portion, from what ive seen, would sit at the head, or base of the neck. Depending on the height of the driver.

roll cage have no place for street car, with the harness(assuming you will have a harness bar fab'ed for it) and roll cage, you are risking your melon for not using a helmet.

You might can do away without a helmet if you have a proper sized sedan but for the S, there's no much head room to squeeze the tube in(without interferening/contacting with your melon in case of a crash)

<--owner of a Snell/dot helmet and Sparco 4 point harness(hpde)

You should not use a harness with the S2000 seats. It will cause more harm in an accident. It is not safe!
